Entries continue be accepted for the 2006 Westfield Junior PGA Southern Ohio Championship held June 29 at Weatherwax Golf Club, Middletown, Ohio.  Before advancing to the Section Championship, junior golfers must compete in one of three qualifiers held at area courses from June 15-22.  The entry deadline for all qualifiers is June 8.

Boys and girls compete in three age divisions - 12 and under, 13-15, and 16-18.  Participants in the older division are eligible to represent their section at the 2006 Westfield Junior PGA Championship, Aug. 10-13 at Westfield Group Country Club in Westfield Center, Ohio.

The 31st annual national Championship features an expanded field of the junior boys' and girls' division champions from each of The PGA of America's 41 Sections, as well as special invitees.   The 2006 Championship will field 156 players and is open to boys and girls who will not have reached their 19th birthday on or before Aug. 13, 2006, and who have not started college.  Section winners receive free round-trip air transportation, meals and lodging to compete for the national title at the Westfield Junior PGA Championship.

A premier event in junior golf, the tournament has attracted more than 180,000 juniors since its origin in 1976.  Past competitors include many of today's leading PGA and LPGA touring professionals, including Stewart Cink, Justin Leonard, Michelle McGann, Phil Mickelson, Dottie Pepper and Tiger Woods.
